The Neighbour Thing

27. Jul. 2006, 17:09

So I figured I might as well analyse my neighbours top 3 artists and see wether I actually know them...

- Tom McRae (#5)
Tom McRae is brilliant. Depressive but great.
- David Ford
I have never heard of him. Makes note to self.
- Elbow (#4)
Elbow has been quickly rising in my overal artists over the past year. I've been playing Red for quite a long time now, but only started liking and listening other songs when their third album came out.

- Coldplay (#22)
Oh well... We all know Coldplay... They used to be better... Didn't really like X&Y...
- Death Cab for Cutie (#43)
They're quite alright. Haven't heard that much of them on CD, but I did see them live early this year. They were quite good live!
- The Electric Soft Parade
They're not in my list. But I might as well check them out too. I noted Elbow and Turin Brakes as no. 4 en 5 and this makes it more reasonably why this guy is my musical neighbour :).

- Kashmir
I know them, I've heard one song. But that's about it. I didn't really like the song I heard, I think it was Curse of Being A Girl.
- U2
U2 are alright. I just haven't got their music... I like a lot of their stuff... I should get it.
- Coldplay (#22)
See above.

- Radiohead (#55)
Radiohead are ok, sometimes I find them a bit too complicated, but they've written lots of quality songs.
- Oasis (#159)
Oasis are OK. No more than that. I wouldn't buy their music really.
- Elbow (#4)
See above.

- Radiohead (#55)
See above.
- John Frusciante
Not in my list. I like some of his work. That's it really. Can't tell anything else.
- Coldplay (#22)
See above

- Tom McRae (#5)
See Above...
- I Am Kloot (#3)
It was about time a top 3 artist was spotted in the top 3 of my neighbours... Well here it is. I Am Kloot is utter brilliance. Just so you know. Seen then live about 5-6 times now.
- Belle and Sebastian (#26)
Sometimes a bit too poppy, but slowly rising up my chart :).

Hi there. Just wanted to put in a good word for David Ford. Definitely worth checking out... his album I Sincerely Apologise For All The Trouble I've Caused is a solid listen that you'll probably like, especially if you're into music like Tom McRae's. I Don't Care What You Call Me is a great song. He has a few songs for streaming and download up at his myspace. Cheers, Mary
