yes, i do. working on what every other writer is working on. it is about letters. that is the theme. not the plot. plot is secondary, you see. =) perfecting the code. i have always had penpals since i was small. and then i had my first "serious" penpal, after living in lithuania for a time (it helped that he was just as much of a semiotics loving nut). those 5-6 penpal years served as some inspiration. got my brain moving. i met up with him again this past summer, after all that time. that surely helped too. and it was a tad surreal.

Home-brewed cider? Wow, I'm jealous. I like the dodgy 'brewed-in-a-bathtub' taste. How long you brewing for?

I get distracted reading too. It is a shame. It is mostly lately. I have never been the type of person to read about 5-7 books at one time, and now I am. I guess my mind is experiencing ADD. I am trying to get through Slaughterhouse quickly, though. Also, of Kundera's work, I really enjoyed Life Is Elsewhere. The work is mostly a commentary on youth, but since Catcher in the Rye is still one of your favorite books, this recommendation is especially appropriate. The themes will resonate with your daily life. You'll see yourself (what you've gone through), and better be able to place your experiences. Not necessarily place them in a line or make them coherent, but rather you will say, "Ah, yes! This is youth. And I understand following whims to an extreme."

unbearable lightness is my favorite. or one of those favorites that has just shaped so much. i also loved atlas shrugged and anna karenina. as favorites. i am reading slaughterhouse five and the beautiful and the damned, amongst others. you read more of kundera or just that one?
