8. Jul. 2008, 14:08Thu 3 Jul – O2 Wireless Festival
I've typed up a review of the Friday on my own blog here. I managed to see Peter and the Wolf, The Reprieve, The Rascals, Dirty Pretty Things (twice), The Black Kids, Guillemots, Liam Finn, The Wombats, Beck, The National and Morrissey.
If you disagree with anything, feel free to comment. I sense I'm going to get tons of hate mail for my Morrissey review anyway.

26. Jun. 2007, 22:23Thu 21 Jun – Nine Black Alps, The Sugars
The guitarist of The Sugars had an almighty quiff. Honestly. Anyway, to me it was a a sub-standard version of The White Stripes with the addition of a female vocalist/bassist. There were elements that showed potential but ultimately it wasn't that impressive.
Nine Black Alps obviously have a pretty hardcore following - the crowd last night was very receptive - cheering and singing the old songs loudly and jumping up and down like maniacs.
All the favourties from the first album were there - Not Everyone, Unsatisfied, Just Friends, Cosmopolitan and the set closer, Shot Down, were all recieved well as were the new songs. The new songs don't really mark a change in direction for the band as such, it's the same great hooks and catchy grunge rock that made me like them in the first place.
If there was one complaint, they could have done more acoustic songs. Nine Black Alps do have a few softer songs that are just as catchy as the rockier songs, but only one acoustic song was played (and that was a new song). Something like Intermission or Behind Your Eyes would have been great.
But a solid gig nonetheless. Go and see them if you have the chance.
