to be honest dude, what i do is just go through record labels band rosters and listen to everything i can, that way you learn about the labels style and find a fuck ton of bands. labels to know well: Bridge 9, Deathwish, BBB, Reaper, theyre the big dawgs. other ones i can think of at the moment of writing: lockin out, A389.

fuck, right hahah. hip-hop: Sims, Aesop Rock, Doomtree, P.O.S, Cecil Otter, Dessa. practically anything on Rhymesayers is amazing, forward thinking, punk infused hip-hop. hardcore: Rival Mob (their new e.p Mob Justice is a rager / their old e.p has the classic 'hardcore for hardcore' on it which is amazing. The First Step (energetic old-school inspired incredibly positive hardcore which i absolutely fucking love) Expire (Bridge 9's new hype band, thoroughly deserved, just released 'EXPIRE' which is an incredibly solid,meaty album. Verse (legendary political hardcore band, back from the dead, new album on B9) Last Lights (were on their way to becomming huge but the lead singer died, released one album that is absolutely brilliant) . Lambgoat.com is an invaluable resource, i check it every day pretty much, updates on everything thats happening in metal / hardcore, http://straightonview.blogspot.co.uk updated with a lot of the new releases/ a lot of under the radar bands.
