  • Songs for rainy days

    27. Jul. 2007, 17:06

Changing of the Seasons - Beautiful song. It's probably right in any types of weather, but extra right when it's raining.

If You Tolerate This Then Your Children Will Be Next - The lyrics are in my head, about politics, possibly global warming. That affects the weather too, you know.

So Real - Just try it! Perfect match.

Diskodrøv - Actually, it's not a rainy day-song, but it might fool you to not care about the weather so much the sky might as well could be blue.

Waltz - Cold rainy days, that is.

Because - Something about his voice in this song....

While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The lyrics are full of rain.

First Day Of My Life - Nice, cute song.

Bullet Proof...I Wish I Was - Thom Yorke's voice is always perfect when it's raining, and this song fits especially good.

Atom Heart Mother Suite - It lasts forever, but it never gets boring.

Too Many Days - Cute voice, sad song. Rainy.

Lady of My Life - Cute voice, happier song. To recover from Too Many Days.

No Quarter - Maybe better for rainy nights, but it works in daytime too.

Immigrant Song - If you play it loud enough, it will scare the drive the rain away

Melke - Yes, the whole album.

    Music for Moviebikers - Yup.

    Blue - Indeed.

Read My Mind - Happy song in the end.

  • Portrait Of A Serial Killer

    3. Apr. 2007, 12:36

The geniusity of The Director's Cut just came to me, like a light in the dark. I off course knew that this was a masterpiece before, but I when started listening to it from the start this morning, it seemed better than ever to me.

First things first: everything that starts with the theme song from The Godfather is great, movie or album. Fantômas' version is just as perfect as the original, if not even MORE perfect. It's all-mighty. Nothing less. It stuns you.
From there on, the album goes on, and you never want it to end. It's not One Step Beyond, and it's never boring - logically, since it's avant-garde enough to scare your mother to death. Or something like that.

I can't even with these stupid little words describe what a great album this is. Maybe you just should go buy it?

  • I used to have a survey-addiction...

    3. Apr. 2007, 12:27

    ...and I still have it.

But when I read to my journal here, I got bored because there were so many of them. I therefor deleted them and made a promise to myself about only posting surveys on MySpace from now on. MySpace is the place for surveys, this is the place for half or hole intelligent words about music.

    The End.

  • Asphyxsis

    15. Okt. 2006, 12:58

Yesterday I had a really great day, and much of the reason for this was this band - Asphyxsis. I got to see them live for the first (and second) time, and they were really, really good. Especially the last consert at De Røde Sjøhus impressed me a lot. They covered Led Zeppelin's Since I've Been Loving You, and it didn't sound bad at all. It sounded great, acctually, and this I say even though I got real sceptical when I found out they were going to play the song.

Anyway - check them out. Their music rules.

  • Johnny Hancocks

    12. Sep. 2006, 23:31

You gotta love this band. Johnny Hancocks play great, progressive rock, just like people used to do in the 70's. And their drummer is a 70's-soul, which only listnends to 60's and 70's music, loving bands like Pink Floyd and The Doors. Anyway, the band has very little material available on the internet so far, but if you enter their webiste, www.johhnyhancocks.com, you can listnend to some of their music, read a little bit more about the band and stuff like that.

If you, by any reason, would want inside information about the band members, I've got lots of it! All you have to do is ask..

Anyway. Check them out. They're great.

Edit: If you want to download their songs to your computer, enter www.rogalandsavis.no/demo/article2248481.ece.

  • Puplit Rockefestival

    20. Aug. 2006, 23:36

Yes yes. It's late in the evening. Tomorrow, it's back to school. This weekend I've been to Pulpit, a yearly rock festival in Stavanger, Noreway. This is the festival's second year, and this was the second time I was at the festival. Even though there were more good bands last year, I enjoyed my time at the festival better this year. Probably because of the great company. But that's not what I'm going to tell you about, no. This is a msuic site, and there for: a little bit about some of the concerts I saw during the festival.

    Satyricon
Ok, I don't excatly like Satyricon, and the concert wasn't exactly good in my eyes (and ears), but I had a great time during the concert anyway. Mostly because I found the guys (and the chick on keyboards) just a little bit funny. Want a laugh, see Satyricon. A good advice.

    dum dum boys
I haven't been listening too much on Dum Dum Boyd, but they're great really great live, and I feel like I'll be listening more to them in the future. Their songs are pretty good, and many of them is classics in Norway. This is on of the big four Norwegian rock bands, you know. I enjoyed them very much.

    Seigmen
God, this was the best concert during the whole festival, and one of the best concerts I've ever been to. The band is really great on stage, and their music is georgeus. I can't seem to find the right words, and that's a good thing.

    Thomas Dybdahl
The guy has the most amazing voice ever, and the music is very very pretty. It got a little boring in the end of the concert, but mostly it was fantastic. Nothing for those who needs to jump around on shows, but really something worth seeing for the rest of us.

    Morten Abel
From our city's best (Thomas Dybdahl, that is) artist to one of the worst ones. Morten is unbeliveable. He looks funny, he dances strange and I can't stand his voice. Me and my buddies left halfways through his gig, and we don't regret it. Freaky ghost-like guy. It's not even funny, it's just sad.

  • Top 5 debuts

    31. Jul. 2006, 0:20

Inspired from High Fidelity (which by the way is a great book) and Mojo, I am now going to make this list. You'll probably hate it. I'll probably hate it. Not now, but tomorrow, or the day after that. But anyway, here it goes:

    5. The Strokes - Is This It
Does it fit in? Should it be here? Probably not, but I do love the Strokes, and this is a very great album, I can't just... forget about it. It's needed. It can't be removed. It has to be here.
A great song from this album: Soma

    4. Kaizers Orchestra - Ompa til du dør
Ok, I really love Kaizers Orchestra, and I really love this album. It's some of the most original music you can find, at least among Norwegian artists, and I love it. I think everybody should listnend to this band, even though they might not understand the lyrics.
A great song from this album: Resistansen

    3. Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
A great rock n' roll album filled with energy and lots of soul - despite the fact that it was realesed in 1987, during the shall-it's-name-remain-unspoken-period.
A great song from this album: My Michelle.

    2. Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Everything Pink Floyd have made is great, and this is no exception. I really, really love this record. It's so sweet and psychadelic and great and beautiful and all that kind of crap.
A great song from the album: Astronomy Domine.

    1. The Doors - The Doors
It's one of the best albums in the world, and definitly the best debut-album ever. I won't even ever regret writing that. If you don't know this album by know, you really should hurry up and visit a record shop.
A great song from the album: End of the Night.
