Wed 15 Dec – DAAU, Isbells & Sir Ian
Last Wednesday you could buy a ticket at lantaren/venster for only 14 something euro and enjoy 3 concerts!! Isn't that a perfect deal? I was familiar with all three bands, although the last one I had not recognized due to the abbreviation (shame-smiley).
It was quite a mix. Sir Ian, a sing-a-songwriter had some good stuff at the end of his concert, but for the other part of his line up he should especially do something on his lyrics.
Isbells, quite sweet and a strong choice on one kind of sound, but I liked it a lot, they showed a great capability of playing instruments and were not at all arrogant and a little uncomfortable on the stage. I liked watching and listening to them a lot.
DAAU (Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung- famous since the 90's), this music mixes you up, maybe not something you easily listen during a diner, but great as a concert, strange sounds, using the instrument not as you should use it, but to use it to express yourself and they did a great job at that!

    I had a great night!
  • Zomerparkfeest Venlo Rules

    Sun 29 Aug – Zomerparkfeest 2010
Again this year "ZPF" had an interesting line-up. A free local promoted festival of 4 days with music from all over the world. Every year I expect it will attract more people from outside Venlo with the line-ups they have, but it still keeps going strong as a local & charming festival.

It is great to see the programmers of the festival know how to mix local artists, national and international artists in a perfect way. I am a fan of this mix and I definitely will be coming over in the upcoming years.

This year I was caught by surprise by the upcoming band "Daily Bread" and the folky band "Awkward I" also the songs of the local poppy sing-a-songwriter Linda Zijlmans and band were quite catchy. Finally I got to see Hausmagger as well, but in the end I need to conclude it is more a band for 'tough men".

Don't miss out on the next ZPF!
  • Oerol Everywhere

This was my first time at the Oerol festival and defenitely not the last time.
All ages gather here to enjoy this inspiring festival. Such a divers and high standard programme, I hardly can imagine someone not enjoying him/herself here. The relaxed atmosphere on this island with beautiful views (old Dutch landscapes) is the sugar topping of the festival.
  • Dancing in the street

Sat 19 Jun – Slag bij Waterloo Festival 2010
Really nice festival, good atmosphere and although the rain visited the festival a few times people kept coming. Coparcks' gig was good and Shameboy was a great closing of the evening, everybody was dancing in the street! Small street, big event, wide spread.
