Greetings from West Siberia and thank you for the kind words, Nyasa! -) Yeah, Chakk and Hula are very interesting bands as Workforce and Primary Industry (and Cabs of course). I even bought The Beat is The Law DVD from UK, where I found some rarest photos from Chakk! The Lucy Show... a second amazing band from UK (but their founders are from Canada) with two powerful albums and some singles (The Price of Love is awesome!). What I can recommend?Hmm... check Music For Pleasure (synthpop/post-punk band, they are very underrated, but very melodic), Opera Multi Steel (a very unusual project from Bourges, France. The playing interesting fusion of synthpop and medieval music on analogue synthesizers), Martin Dupont (experimental synth-band from Marseille, France), Les Nus (one of my very favourites new wave/rock bands from France. Synths, bass/electro guitars, driven beats, amazing male vocal) and The Passage (post-punk beats+unusual arranged works+orchestral music+melodic avantgarde+synthpop)

I didn't see them in the 80s I have to admit. DM was in the 90s and the others even later. Still some great gigs. I can't tell what I've seen in the past. There's way too much and just the concerts I marked here on last.fm in my "events" list are nearly 150. Chameleons or ChameleonsVox gigs are amazing. They are my most favourite band and I try to go there whenever they are in the area.

Now that's an interesting list of gigs you are going to attend. Checking my calendar - no, it's not 1983 but 30 years later. :-) I've seen 3 out of 5: Killing Joke, The Damned and Depeche Mode.

Yeah, my fave XTC albums are the freaky twisted ones! Although they also have some really beautiful stuff (like the songs you mentioned from Nonsuch). BTW, do you know Bill Nelson's Red Noise? Perhaps you'd like him as well, quite freaky twisted too! :)

Hello from Brazil!! :) Yeah, Oingo Boingo is really awesome! And if you're into their early works I'd highly recommend XTC's early albums as well - rumour has it that Andy Partridge's singing back then really inspired Danny Elfman! Check out White Music and Go 2, hope you'll like them. Drums and Wires is XTC's 3rd album, a bit different from those previous ones, but still a nice hearing as well :)

yeah, that's why I figured it was their first show here 'cause the only other bands I've seen at the Roxy are like my friends' bands. super awesome they had a packed house though, they seemed both surprised and overwhelmed, so cute! funny that you mentioned Tin because my two favorites from Man Alive have always been Final Form and Photoshop Handsome but seeing Tin really got to me and I appreciate and love that song a lot more. subtle musically but the imagery/tone of the lyrics is gorgeous. so glad you had a good time. (:
