David Lynch's films are masterpieces because of their surreal narrative.

Well, all four films are fucking abstract masterpieces.

You can start with the one you want, but Inland Empire is his strangest movie, and if you start with this one, you will be very confused.

If you want to see more mind-blowing films, take a look at David Lynch's filmography, specially Eraserhead, Inland Empire, Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive. Surely you've already seen A Clockwork Orange.

Enter The Void blowed my fucking mind. That's why it's one of my favourite films of all time. 2001 is my favourite film of all time.

mos def? booooo! and what lord-surreal said, get into Maudlin of the Well. they're greatness. "Bath" and "leaving your body map" are both great brother/sister albums. a few members of MotW went on to form Kayo Dot and i've always loved their first album, "choirs of the eye".

Go for some maudlin of the Well. They're probably the most like Harvey Milk you can get. I'm pretty noobish to them but I can say they're everything they're cracked up to be. A few others you might want to check into are Red Snapper (a lot like Tortoise), Wire (a lot like Minutemen), and an essential shout out to getting yourself a very complete discography listening of the incredible band known as Devo. Devo is seriously underrated, and is one of the most fun bands of all time. Besides, they had profuse influence on punk and noise rock. Melvins and Minutemen were huge Devo fans.

Hell yeah man, thanks. If you ever need recommendations, let me know. I love Harvey Milk, I'd love to see them live someday.

Hi! And In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is one of my favorite albums too! It's so gorgeous and makes for really good writing music too. And I'm a history nerd so I love all the little historical references scattered in there.

it may be a matter of taste but out of all the albums, permutation seems the most satisfying to me. i just love the samples on escape and regular chickens and i could dance like a madman to bridge and sordid. :D

And yeahh, Saul Williams was my entry into Hip-Hop too, its a really awesome genere, but just like any other, the popular stuff is generally a really bad example and cannot stand up to some of the lesser-known, higher quality artists
