All the CDs I got in 2008

Idea taken from my previous journal

Wow, I'm surprised I've not made a single journal for a year now. I really don't have as much thought to put on my journals for now, even though this year I listened to several interesting titles and saw Iron Maiden on 5th July. I usually post all my stuff about things elsewhere, so I don't usually bother with journals. However, since it's coming to the end of the year, I thought I could make a journal now similar to my previous one listing all the CDs obtained in the year.

How will 2009 in music be? I'd say it won't be as interesting as 2008, but that's what I said about this year and I was so wrong. This year was actually more interesting than last year with bands like AC/DC, Metallica and Guns N' Roses (especially them for finally releasing Chinese Democracy, even though it was just poor in the end) releasing new albums. 2009, however, I'll just wait and see what happens.

How's this for a quick response? There is some level of similarity to my shopping for this year with the two Angra albums, Disraeli Gears, Land of the Free Part II, Killing Machine and Lightning to the Nations, Nostradamus, but that's where our similarities end I think. Everything else I either don't have or had before the beginning of 2008. A few remarks: - You really prefered Rebirth to Temple of Shadows? - You've only just ordered Operation: Mindcrime? That's nothing to be ashamed of, I'm just surprised since it has quite a reputation. I think you'll like it when it turns up. - You've only just got Van Halen I this year? Again nothing to be ashamed of and not a criticism, but I'm surprised given the depth of knowledge implicit from some of your other choi8ces that you've only just bought Van Halen I this year. Oh well, I guess it's a matter of different tastes and such. Let's hope 2009 is as good as this year if not better.

Maybe I'll pick up with Temple of Shadows some other time, but right now, I prefer Rebirth for tracks like Nova Era and Running Alone. I'll admit, I'm terrible with getting certain albums. I know I should have got Operation: Mindcrime and some Van Halen much sooner, but I always get distracted by other albums. Hell, the worst thing about this problem is the fact that I've yet to get Heaven and Hell. Yes, I know how bad that sounds and I SHOULD get it sometime. On the bright side to this, there's still major titles for me to get in the future and to look forward to.

Yikes, you've got all those Dio albums but not Heaven and Hell? Something's going wrong there as you're obviously a fan. Heaven and Hell is as good as everyone says it is though, you won't be disappointed. Dehumanizer is better than people give it credit for too. As for Mob Rules, I don't have it yet. Op: Mindcrime is great, you shouldn't regret that purchase. Not sure if Queensryche have any other albums that even hold a candle to it at the moment though, possibly something of a one-album-wonder. If Van Halen I was the first Van Halen you got, I'll gladly recommend Van Halen II, Fair Warning and 1984 for your next choices. Women and Children First and Diver Down are (IMO) a clear cut below, though both still good.
