I don't think anybody else even checks these any more, but I figured I would write one anyway:
Basically, my last.fm client has been breaking a lot this week. Sometimes I can reinstall and get it to scrobble one track, but it almost always fails again if I so much as blink.
Maybe once I've got Ubuntu Gutsy running on here (which hopefully won't involve me accidentally destroying my bootloader again) I'll be able to scrobble again. However, as it is, it looks as though I will not be able to share my far-superior tastes with the Internet at large.
Because I know how much you all care, here's a list of what I've been listening to lately:
1.) Halo33's
New Blood - This track just plain demonstrates some of the best production I've ever heard from an unsigned artist (or indeed from any artist). This guy clearly knows what he's doing, and if this track is any indication, he could become a staple of my music diet. Also, despite how much I dislike Ron Paul generally, I honestly think he's the only politician right now who really gets it when it comes to Iraq, and that shows in the samples here.
2.) 16 Horsepower - Loud, bottom-heavy mountain music with odd instrumentation and heavily-biblical lyrics about revenge. This stuff can get downright creepy (
Heel On The Shovel), and I like it.
3.) Pretty Hate Machine - Yeah, yeah, I know it's old. It's still got some of the most complex and well-constructed tracks I've ever heard(
Something I Can Never Have). And you know, I think I like it better than The Downward Spiral - YEAH I SAID IT.
4.) Arab Strap - The Last Romance. What more needs to be said?
And now, a sample from my new book, Things Your English Professor Told You Never To Do:
The End.
