So, here is my original journal which proclaimed my News Years' Resolution for 2007 - The Year of the Turntable.

The journal came fresh off the heels of my last hip hop mix, which I title my Barbershop MixTapes. I made it a resolution to try and double the amount of hip hop albums in my CD library from 25 to 50. I have to admit, I was definitely slacking during the Spring and Summer in the hip hop department, only picking up Brother Ali's and El-P's latest albums, which are both gold by the way. After receiving an e-mail from YourMusic.com saying that the availability of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) was limited about a week or two ago, I decided it was time once again to work on my resolution. As such, I revisited my list from my journal at the beginning of the year, marking out additions that were on my list and noting purchases that were not on the list. As such here is the updated list:

I just got the GZA and Wu-Tang albums today, so I don't have any impressions quite yet. De La Soul and Boogie Down Productions should be here sometime next week I'm hoping.

As for the albums that I have already purchased off this list, Deltron 3030's self-titled album is most definitely my favorite. I love everything about it. Reflection Eternal is pretty good; I've only listened to it once sadly, so I need to give it more spins to get a better handling of it. The Brother Ali albums are all dope as Hell, I just love the way he flows and spits. The only album that I am disappointed with is Soul Food. I just wasn't feeling it much at all when I got it. Maybe I'll give it a spin this week or next to see what my thoughts are now.
