was born in 1965 in Sicily. When I got to know, how people, the world and the technology of music instruments and equipment developed, I could also notice, how the whole grooving spread around the world. I was especially surprised about the standard and performance of this technology. When I was about 11 years old, I saw one of the most delightful carnevals in my home town in Sicily. At that time I lived together with my parents in a town with 13,000 - 14,000 inhabitants, where every year the carneval was something big and special. This carneval was different from those, which I saw in other towns. On Friday morning, before carneval started at that time, we had parties, where I always acted as DJ. On one of these occasions I decided to produce music for the rest of my life. Bands like Kraftwerk, Rock Heads, Pink Floyd, Jean Michel Jarre, Frank Duval and Johnny Guitar Watson were really phantastic and filled me with enthusiasm. More and more I devoted to this music and was especially interested in electronic music. I listened to music awfully much, and when I was 13 years old, I already knew more about it. However, there is much music everywhere, and also a series of different styles, and somethimes it is hard and difficult to get the really good music and bands out of this multitude. In my opinion also The Queen and Pink Floyd are good bands, who produced brilliant music for generations. At that time I possessed two old record players, which I used like anything for practicing as DJ for myself, and I also danced. When I was 14, time passed quicker and quicker, during that time more and more new sounds developed, and I started to play my own music on our parties, which were really very entertaining. More and more people attended our over-crowded parties. In this little bay in Sicily the style like Rave or progressive was not as powerful as in the big parties in Germany. My parties were smaller, however, how do you say ? -it s not much, but it?s nice!-
I practiced on my own and improved as a DJ, especially my sound. What I disliked, already at that time, was the fact the the music style of the musicians developed too hard, and always sounded alike. The songs always had the same perspective sound. Bands like Kraftwerk were very rare, and they always developed new styles of high quality. You must also not forget that they did not have this simple technology, like that of the digital synthesizer. You got the technology from your own skill; while your fingers produce the sound, your head is the centre of the whole outline. I think that it is very difficult to produce a good outline of the sound with your fingers. Nowadays more and more digital synthsizers are used, which are constantly improved, and due to the many new sounds it is even more easy to produce new music.
For some time I have seen many live acts in Sicily, however, I have hardly anywhere seen great and famous bands. Once I even went to Munich to attend a concert of Pink Floyd. Though everything developed ?live-, it is at present the same as in the 90ies, when you could listen to good live music, like this music in the Pink Floyd concert, where these people make real live music.
