So here is a list and review of some of the best artists (July) i probably would have never heard of if it weren't for last.fm.

Jackson C. Frank and his self titled debut in 1965 caught my ear just recently. If you are a fan of 60's and 70's acoustic folk, like Nick Drake or John Martyn Then you will love Jackson's music. He has a very tragic biography and it only adds to the atmosphere of the haunting presence his music presents. I really love his track I Want To Be Alone (Dialogue) as it is probably his darkest and saddest song. It almost always brings tears to my eyes when i see a picture of him while listening to this song. So check him out, if your taste is anything like mine, I know you will love him.

Cressida (The progressive one) from 1969 Is just awesome. I listen to a lot of progressive music on vinyl and these guys are really good at making it. Unfortunately they never really took off, but that doesn't mean they didn't leave us with some great tunes. I'm actually listening to their Asylum record right now and i have to say it is fast becoming one of my favorite progressive records. Each song is very different but every more interesting and unique. If you can get some time to spare them an ear, do it! You wont be disappointed.

Fotheringay from 1971 only lasted one year but Sandy Dennys performance on the record is incomparable. If you have any doubts just listen to The Sea and eliminate all doubts. Its a gorgeous record if you love folk music and if you haven't heard it yet then what are you waiting for!
