When rating prog albums I try to do so in a historical context, that is how an album compares against the entire body of Prog. This means that the best album for any given year, which most people would rate with top marks may not receive the same rating in my charts as only the best albums of all time should get the highest ratings... This chart does not include compilations or live albums.

Nobody is entitled to definy a music genre, a music genre is a kind of "tag cloud" of all fans of a certain art of music. If i like to call Dream Theater progressive metal, i am allowed. If i want to call a background of my awatar yellow i am also allowed, other can say orange or dark yellow or sunny yellow and so on. Even artists by themselves aren't able to call their genre they are playing. The world isn't just black and white, especially the world of music. Its true, that reviewers on progarchives have expanded the prog library to controvercial maximum, but it shows at least all the influences from other genres and give us a better access to the music we love.

I don't disagree, but it makes things easier to have a reference; like a dictionary, if you like. It's just a shame that the reference I chose isn't very reliable :D
