I often create custom playlists for myself in iTunes. I find it amusing to give myself a set of parameters and search through my library for items that might fit the theme or mood for which I am aiming. My latest project was to take my top 8 last.fm artists, and create a "sampler" as if it was made for someone who had never heard of any of the artists, in order to introduce them.. Each artist gets two songs, and I attempted to have one of those be upbeat and the other be more ballad-like. This is my result, which I think makes a pretty decent mix, even though it is very difficult for me to compress these musicians down to only two songs!
