  • 蜂-biene-

    27. Mär. 2008, 19:39

I really love 少女と雨, the song 蜂-biene- has released so far!

It's a great combination of dreamy and cheerful, and somehow sounds like something アンティック-珈琲店- would sing, except it's a more melancholic. But EDEN's voice sounds a lot like Miku's to my ears...

I like EDEN's voice so much that I wanted to hear more of him, and since 蜂-biene- only has that one song, of course I had to check out カリメロ, his former band...

What a surprise! カリメロ are angura kei, and so, much darker than 蜂-biene-! =o
But I absolutely love their music, they were great, even if they didn't last for long.
It's so interesting how the singer's voice can sound so very different - poignant, even heart-rending, in カリメロ / colourful, though with a streak of melancholy, in 蜂-biene-...

Now on my favourite subject of tags :P I noticed that on their OHP, this band's name is spelled with a small b...
Maybe it used to be a capital B there, but now that's how it is... and it seems we'll have to ask a mod to change their name on last.fm! :D

For anybody and everybody who cares ^____^ these are correct tags for Jeniva and 摩天楼オペラ (Matenrou Opera).

  • Plastic Tree

    15. Mai. 2007, 2:23

The more I listen to Plastic Tree, the more I like it. It seems I'm becoming one of the many who are mesmerized by Ryutaro's voice, and are addicted to it :D

The first song I heard from them must've been Spica, when I stumbled upon the PV. I seem to remember thinking, 'Good song, good PV, good band... and the vocalist's voice is... special...' XD And of course what I meant was 'I don't understand this voice - what is it doing in a jrock band?!' XD

Then, I read Ryutaro's voice is indeed thought special by many, in a good way, and sometimes called 'childlike' and 'ethereal'. To me, it sounds neither childlike nor ethereal :p

However, now I find it very beautiful, in a heart-rending sort of way. It conveys a sort of emotion that doesn't have its equivalent among jrock vocalists, at least to those I've listened so far (not so many, I admit).

The other band members are also doing a terrific job, and as a result, Plastic Tree's songs hold together real well, and have an unmistakable sound.

In short, I'm their fan forever now :D

I can hardly wait to hear them live in July, I can't even imagine what kind of an experience that will be :)
  • My first JRock concerts! :)

    12. Mai. 2007, 0:09

Today I bought online my tickets for Plastic Tree's and MIYAVI's concerts in Bonn! I'll be praying everyday that they arrive safely in my hands :)

I'm very excited about attending these concerts, they will be my first JRock concerts ever! I really hope they won't be the last XD

Something that until a little while ago I thought of just like a dream is about to become reality, and that makes me very happy :)
