Yeah, HOWL, I've been meaning to.. just got done downloading it.. will watch it soon enough.. Cronenberg hmm.. liked his Videodrome, quite surreal.. also loved his contribution in 'To Each His Own Cinema', but Eastern Promises has gotta be my fav from the director, it's slick! The Movies Vs Books debate can go on endlessly.. but I prefer movies.. very few directors do justice to well written books.. understandably so.. Keeping the integrity of a well written novel/script intact while reducing it down to a 2hr flick is hard enough, but trying to make it live-up-to or match each individual reader's imagination is almost an impossibility. Hence one is bound to feel a little disappointed.. but heck you gotta give 'em credit for picking the right stuff and trying to bring it to life =P

i'm going there...to just go there. a few friends and i are going and it's just gonna be a lot of being bad to my body, but it'll be well worth it! and now that i'm not in school for a bit, i'm gonna be a busy workin' man. mad bank. anyway, check your inbox for my email address. i don't want no spammers gettin' ahold of me contact info! yarrr.

second: that sounds fantastic! it's always nice when artists aren't total dicks. i met the decemberists last summer and they were all sweethearts. love those guys :'). aaaaand i'm okay. like i had mentioned a minute ago, i'm in a sort of transitional/cocoon state right now. also i'm saving up to head to california for spring break...hopefully that works out. i haven't been there for real in my entire life (i went on a family vacation some years back, and family vacations = tourist traps. wooo.) so i'm really excited to head west. i need a change of scenery.

pardon my absence, miss. i've been busy being busy...i'm sure you can relate. answers to first post: i've been figuring out school stuffs, which now involves me leaving school for a bit and getting a job. i plan to start back up either in the spring or next fall. i've also picked up some good books recently; i'm reading 'civilwarland in bad decline' by george saunders right now. he's a great cynic and satirist. mmmMMM. he has a nice beard too; not too big, but definitely full. and i have not heard any of his stuff yet. i have been very very bad at listening to anything new that isn't titus andronicus's new record (the monitor). i thiiiink i have msn. at least i used to. i can alternatively give you my email address or i can give you my address address and we can send each other cds from time to time. i'd opt for messenger pigeons, but traveling over the atlantic would be a total bummer.

it's good to see (read, i guess is a better word. just go with it!) you again! i thought you hated me (probably my bad breath or not witty commentary) and then i thought you had died. glad that neither of these two are true! but waaaait. you like bright eyes (a lot!) and you don't like timmy? aw. i've actually been digging him and his side projects possibly more than conor these days...heresy, i know. have you heard commander venus? it's an early supergroup with conor, tim, robb nansel (dude who runs saddle creek), todd fink and matt bowen of the faint (and some other guy that no one remembers really). really good early emo band. i can upload one of their albums for you if you don't have it already and are interested! anyway, i've been okay. still on winter break and i've just about run out of things to do in the chicagoland suburbs. it's a hard life. i was at a wes anderson party tonight. it was super. how have you been, misslady?

it was fantastic! i saw the good life, if i didn't mention that or if you're not just looking at my shows thing on the side of my profile. i hadn't seen them before and timmy kasher and company didn't let me down. i've seen cursive twice before and this was up to par with those shows easily (if not better than the first time i saw them). they played my favorite good life song (inmates), all the classics (album of the year, needy, heartbroke) and a few songs that i didn't know and have since been obsessing over (a golden exit). tim's a wild alcoholic, and it's fantastic.

i'm glad you accepted :' ). yeah, we do mexican food better than...mexico! ha, actually we don't; we have lots of taco bells, however. so where we lack in quality, we make up for with price and abundance, i guess. yeah! it's fun, i'm shooting to have a few songs out by the end of my winter break (january 23rd), i'll keep you up to date with that...and i have not heard of him/them. where should i start? and yes, i'm sure you will. it's a nice little city. heh, thanks for the words of encouragement. i guess i'll have to keep on truckin' with my drawerings.

years back with the fam, and i was very impressed. a friend of mine is currently on a trek there and is raving about it, so i will probably end up making a venture there sometime again in the future (when i'm 21?) and i'll hopefully get to do more than just do lame tourist stuffs. i'm actually quite partial to seattle; i was there for just three days but i was blown away when i was there. i also am a huge supporter of san fransisco. great city, much better than la; which is just expensive and uber touristy. oh, and i still can't draw D;...i suck at shading. i think this is basically just totally futile, so guess i will continue to draw my bad 2d pictures until i die. not the worst fate, i s'pose.

three things first: one -- i was absolutely thrilled to see a long post in my shoutbox. i think you set a record! two -- i friend requested you; i hope that is okay :3. three --don't you hate that you can't do paragraphs in shoutboxes? it makes everything a clusterfuck. there is a place in wicker park (the hip n' trendy place to go in the chicagoland aread) that is called 'flash taco' and it's open late for drunxxx. needless to say, it's fantastic (even sober). reading is great, i've just more recently started getting back into it after years of the "2kool4skool" mentality. hurray for me, though! bands...well, one of them is my own bad folk songs that i've been working on for a while and i just get random people to play on them (lol i'm conor oberst). the other is a post rock band with three of my good friends. i've been trying to get together an early emo (sunny day, cap'n jazz) band together, but so far to no avail. new york is a very rad place to be, i was there a few
