  • My favourite political artists

    21. Nov. 2010, 21:10

This selection is based on my attitude to their political messages and not on the quality of their music. But i can't deny that i love all of them also from the musical point of view. It would be useless to choose "a favourite one" so i put them in chronological order.

    The Last Poets

    Gil Scott-Heron

    Peter Tosh

  • Top 10 Soul Albums

    6. Sep. 2010, 12:23

Similar to my previous funk chart i used here only classic soul albums from 60's and 70's. No neo-soul and other similar genres then. The only problem is Gil Scott-Heron whose magnificent music usually can't be classified just as soul. I made an exception for Pieces Of A Man because in many ways it still can be named a soul album.

    1. Gil Scott-Heron - Pieces of a Man

    2. Curtis Mayfield - Superfly

    3. Curtis Mayfield - Curtis

    4. Marvin Gaye - What's Going On

    5. Sam Cooke - Night Beat

    6. Al Green - I'm Still in Love With You

    7. Curtis Mayfield - Roots

    8. Isaac Hayes - Hot Buttered Soul

    9. Stevie Wonder - Innervisions

    10. Bill Withers - Still Bill

    3. Sly & the Family Stone - Fresh

    4. Cymande - Cymande

    5. Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
