Wahooooooooooooo! After some unsuccesful attempts in the past I have finally got everything set up to transfer my old LPs to MP3 format. The initial problem was the total lack of output plugs on the record player and amp….have now bypassed this problem by using the headphone one.

So why the excitement? Well, there are quite a few things I have on LP/12"/7" that simply aren't available on CD, or are very hard to get a hold of.

The last one still has 9 unguessed songs… This time I've decided not to use the whole library on shuffle as there are too many songs on my pc which aren't really meant to be there - you know when you copy a whole album as you can't be bothered selecting specific songs (and think that maybe one day you will listen to them all and like them - not that this EVER happens) or if you make friends 'special occasion' CDs of music they like (but you don't)….. Well my first attempt at the lyrics game doesn't seem to have been too much of a success. I always thought my music taste was a bit odd, and the game seems to have confirmed this! :D

Anyway - what particularly struck me was that a random selection yielded not one, not two, not even three a-ha songs, but an almighty FOUR! Problem was three of the four had the title of the song in the first line of the lyrics - so they weren't even a challenge.

So, I wondered - are a-ha songs Guess The Lyric game killers?…

OK, OK. You know the drill…

If you don't, or, if you have the memory of a goldfish (or your average Teletubbies viewer), then here are the rules 'again! again!' (said in my best Tubbie voice)

Step 1: Open up whatever MP3 program you use and add every song in your collection.
Step 2: Put it on random.
Step 3: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarassing the song.
Step 4: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 5: Cross out the songs…

I don't really know what this journal stuff is for - but I'm figuring it's the place I'm going to note down all the stuff I usually put on post-its and then scatter all over the place…..

I like the rain plus it's been raining on and off for 5 days - clearly it's time to make a list of songs I like with rain, storm or thunder in the title.
