Hi Jonny, I just looked around for you: these Glenn Gould radio shows are available at the iTunes Store (key words: glenn gould solitude trilogy). Wow, and it is also on Spotify (search using the same words). Have fun listening!

"Noise Floor" was actually the first Bright Eyes album I ever bought. I'm sorry to say, but I think you may have been sentenced to a life with a Bright Eyes soundtrack. It could be worse.

Well, I don't really bother with his earliest projects anymore (like Commander Venus and Park Ave). I've outgrown them. His newer projects, now that's another story. A lot of people dislike the Mystic Valley Band and Monsters of Folk stuff, and I really believe that's mostly due to a genre barrier. Mystic Valley Band ventures into americana and it's the closest he's ever come to country. The lyrics are still great, just very understated and more generalized. If you liked "Gentlemen's Pact", I'd go for the self-titled. If you really get into that, you should try out "Outer South". The thing about "Outer South" is that the other members contribute to vocals and a couple of the songs' lyrics. As for Monsters of Folk, that's another record where the other members contribute their songs and vocals. I'm a huge M. Ward fan, obviously, so the collaboration between my two favorite artists in MOF is enough to keep me happy. (Sorry for the wall of text. I get excited.)

Well, I'm one of those longtime fans, haha. I've been listening off and on for around 8 years, so following his musical career/progress has been a real trip for me. It's been incredible to listen to his music as he's matured and developed into an amazing musician and songwriter. I'm happy to hear that people are still discovering him. The new album has really blown my mind (in a good way).

In regards to what you said on the Bright Eyes page, I totally agree. The only real consistent thing about Bright Eyes (and Conor's work in general) is phenomenal songwriting. Anyway, glad to hear that people feel the same way.

Yeah I think Lifted was the first album I tried and at the time it wasn't super accessible for me, so it's definitely good that the other albums sound different
