Wicked list man! I thought I saw a couple of notable absences, but on closer inspection they were in the honorable mentions lol. Great taste man. When I saw the title of the journal, I was like dammnn, how are they going to find 10 albums from 1979 lol.

  • Flesh-n-Bone

Haha, there aren't even 3 albums from 79 from what I know, therefore due to the few stuff I've heard from the first few years, I put them together then from 86 on, it's all 'alone'. I'll complete the remaining years later when I have more time for it.

  • PanHuan

Woah, man respect. But, there was one more great album "Between A Rock And A Hard Place" by Artifacts since '94. What do you think 'bout it?

    19. Okt. 2009, 15:16
  • Flesh-n-Bone

Haven't listened to it yet, will try to find the time to check it out later. Two albums I disappointingly forgot on the list are Real Brothas by B.G. Knocc Out & Dresta and Soul on Ice by Ras Kass. Can't believe how that could be.

Great List Man, You Defentely Know About Hip Hop & His History, Ok Let Me Find Things You Didn't Include, 1993: Return Of The Boom Bap From Krs One, And 2001 Revolutionary Vol 1 by Immortal Technique & Maybe Endtroducing by DJ Shadow But The Rest Great Job, Overall Really Dope List Man, Respect.

  • Flesh-n-Bone

Return of the Boom Bap? WTF? How I could forget that. LMAO, will be added right away and replaced Lethal Injection. Thanks for reminding me. Maybe I'll also finish the whole list now.

  • brainless_kid

nice job. I don't know that much about hiphop so this is really gonna help me out. Thanks!

  • Flesh-n-Bone

Good to hear, this is definitely also aimed at those who want to start with (good) hip hop music.

    30. Okt. 2009, 14:15
  • FootToFace

really, you put Till Death to Us Part rather than Madvillainy? Other than that I must say this is a pretty solid list.

  • Flesh-n-Bone

I don't know, never really been into Doom's music. I will give him another go with his recent stuff since I'm kind of struggling with finding enough albums to make a list for the recent years as I'm more of an expert when it comes to the older years around the late 80s to mid 90s.

I won't quibble. Very well done.

I don't always agree with your selections but there's some nice stuff here brother, good work.

Thanks to both of you. If any of y'all have disagreements, write them down instead just saying it without mentioning it specifically.

Damn man, well done on this list. There is much I need to check out!

Good list, only real omission I can see is in '96 - Dr Octagonecologyst and Endtroducing... Otherwise I can't argue

  • davson86

Your list is almost perfect! :) Check Boogiemonsters "Riders Of The Storm - The Underwater Album" from '94. Great album, but veeeery underrated.

  • Pedro3000

I'll add one more compliment on a great list. I'll be using it to check some stuff I've yet to hear. Two omissions, imho: - "Hypocrisy Is the Greatest Luxury" (1992) by The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy - the most successfuly politically charged hip-hop album I've ever heard, surely you know "Television, The Drug of The nation" - "Original Pirate Material" (2002) by The Streets - a british hip-hop masterpiece, altough not a "pure" hip-hop album Thanks again for a great reference list!

    14. Dez. 2009, 16:18
  • Flesh-n-Bone

Thanks everyone, I'm glad this list can be a source of where to find good hip hop albums. I will try to complete the list before 2010 comes as a 30 year anniversary tribute to the genre we all love. But problem is, I have simply not listened to enough stuff from some of the recent years to be able to make a list.

  • blakblu

Yet another stupid east coast biased list, just plain stupid

    20. Dez. 2009, 8:15
  • blakblu

Not one Geto Boys made even the honorable mention? All eyes on me, 3rd? No Craig Mack in 1994? 8ball-MJG, Outkast in 94? Bone thugs no love for E.1999 one of the best rap albums ever?

    20. Dez. 2009, 8:21
  • Flesh-n-Bone

Haha lol, you kind of got me. I didn't really get into the Geto Boys until last month and tbh (there are three mentions of them), there's still too many good albums that make the list above them IMO. I only have their first three though, mind you. As for Outkast, Southernplayalistic... is mentioned as is E. 1999.

    20. Dez. 2009, 13:41
  • boozec

Excellent list. This will help guide me for the 80s. I recently got Bum Rush and Critical Beatdown.. I dunno what took me so long! It sounds so fresh and modern like it was made recently.

    28. Dez. 2009, 16:59
  • Flesh-n-Bone

The list is finally finished, and boozec, how did it take so long haha? I could empty my collection and only add albums that came out between 1986 and 1992 in it.

    30. Dez. 2009, 1:27
  • BIG-D313

`Of course everyone's gonna say why's this album on here & why not that, ect... I ain't gonna hate, just give propz on the effort. ; - )

  • Reaperius

Nice list man, but you lost some records, like one of the best albums of all time Reflection Eternal - Train Of Thought or some shit from Three 6 Mafia (Mystic Stylez?). Still, big props for this list, I wouldn't do it better! :D
