Reverse Neighbours

13. Feb. 2011, 2:47 Reverse Neighbours is a tool which will find users who have listed you as their neighbour.

I've run it now with depth=4 but nothing found yet (I've checked with some other user: the tool shows results there)
Is my music taste really so unique or is it a plain bug? e.g. in the tool,'s neighbours system?
The tool depends on's neighours list and I've seen my neighbours list work actually correct (in my point of view) only a few times since March 2010.
"Work correct" meaning in sense of validation (not verification): it seems my neighbours list is too much based on my loved tracks

Anyway: I will have to try it with depth=5 or wait when my neighbours list shows some "correct" neighbours :-)

Other choices for finding musical neighbours are: musical neighbourhood

UPDATE 2011-02-19

using depth=20

- shortly before displaying the below user: the tool crashed
- it is also interesting to note that I do not appear in that users neighbours list
- I could not finish the run, so will try another time

machowdhury with position 31
1949 plays
Your musical compatibility with machowdhury is HIGH
Music you have in common includes Tan Dun, Mariza, Sezen Aksu, Le Trio Joubran and Rachid Taha

UPDATE 2011-04-24
another case: I got tamersatir as neighbour, but on his neighbours page I'm not listed

I find something similar myself. I've only seen myself in the neighbours list of one or two people. I think that, when some of your favourite artists have few listeners and you listen to a variety of music, it's harder to be someone's neighbour.

It seems there are more who have no neighbours, see group: we have no reverse neighbours.

I've scrobbled now for ca. 1 week from simfy mostly only albums, let's see if this will have an influence.
