Hahah well it is like 5-6 years of listens. But yeah, Radiohead Muse and Beatles are well oo regular in my ears. I can't get Thom Yorke out, think I might need a stick without damaging the ear drum.. Criminally hadn't heard of AiS, will give them a listen when i get home!

Thank you! I am doing better, was real sore after I saw BFF because we walked A LOT. Still sore but not as bad and I feel a hell of a lot better. They were simply amazing! Sledge waved at us in van. Truly great show with exception of drunk girl passing out, people smoking weed, and drunk obnoxious guy in back of us. Are you going to see them? KMH is great live as well! Thank you, I will check it out! xo

Aw I would but I'm going home today and it's Pop this Friday. Let me know what's happening after that and I will definitely try to come!

Hey, I've been enjoying Standard Fare a lot! That would be great if you could give me more of their stuff? I've been in High Soc since Fresher's Week but I've never been to an event until Abi suggested we go to see your band the other week because I've had no one to tag along with. But I'd definitely be interested in coming to more stuff and being on committee!

Well, the CD was meant to come with the badge (I do have a bag of them somewhere in the house but can't find them) so maybe the Badge Fairy brought it for you?

Heh! It was on Songkick (via wegottickets) already and I like to maintain consistency in my gig listings :)

I enjoyed them a lot. My favourite was the Lighthouse Keeper's Song - probably because as you pointed out, it is a pop song! I shall look forward to hearing the rest!

I didn't spend much! I thinks it's only fair that people should be reimbursed for their efforts when creating music so I usually put a bit of money in when people put it on with the spend as much as you want option. I'll look forward to hearing the rest. I've only listened to the first song so far - my son made me turn it off!!!

Über mich

I was lucky enough to front a band called August Actually, with 3 of my friends. We formed to play a show supporting The Wave Pictures in May 2011, and in total played about 50 shows, supporting the likes of Tim Kasher(!!!), Allo Darlin, Darren Hayman, Bearsuit, and MJ Hibbett & the Validators, across the UK. We released an EP, a double A-side single, and (at our last gig, in January 2015) our album, The Forever War. We are currently on hiatus for at least a couple of years...

So I've started playing a lot of solo shows, under various names - most often Alexander Christopher Hale but sometimes Alex and the Christopher Hale Band (though I've played in an actual band with that name twice; first doing solely Shakira covers, the second time playing some of my original songs, with guest star Simon Love on bass). I used to call myself Hannibal Hamster but got bored of that for some reason. I'm playing Indietracks 2015 (on a train!) and should hopefully have an EP out around that time.

Other projects I've been involved with include the short term avant-skiffle trio Poirot's Boys, Christmas charity single enthusiasts Geoffrey and the Livingstones, and my first band, Japanese Sleepers, with whom I played keyboards and did some vocals.

I've also guested with various live bands (often shambolically) including Simon Love (who once made me sing an entire one of his songs, and also covers one of mine regularly), No! Disco (with whom I cowrote a song), Heroes of the Mexican Independence Movement, Burly Nagasaki, Hawks and Other Birds, Robert George Saull and Red Shoe Diaries. I've also appeared onstage alongside The Flaming Lips (dressed as a yeti), The Loves (playing the role of Jesus' answerphone) and MJ Hibbett (playing the role of a civilian onlooker during a robot space invasion).
