Ne-Yo released his long-anticipated fourth studio album, Libra Scale, this week in Japan, some days or weeks ahead of the rest of the world. This album is said to be quite different from any of his previous releases, because it's based on the fictional story about a man named Jerome, but you don't have to worry, Ne-Yo is not trying to write in the point of view of an android with a human heart or something like that (no offense meant!) and the lyrical theme and narrativity haven't affected his music and style so much. It's not that the content of this album is predictable, however, and you can difinitely enjoy some different approaches of him, on such songs as "Know Your Name," "One in a Million" and "What Have I Done?"

And established and famed beatmaker/producer Nottz released his solo debut album, You Need This Music, this week, too. When I first heard the news about Nottz preparing his debut, I thought it would be, like many other beatmakers' own albums, a collaborative work with various guest features on his productions. Nottz, however, surprisingly also took on the rapping duties for a large part of the whole album and even more unexpectedly, it's not really bad at all. And yet, of course, the featured artists, especially singers like Dwele, Bilal, Joy Denalane and Mayer Hawthorne, successfully added some goodness to Nottz' hard, solid yet warm and soulful beats and rapping.

Comet_Course, Thanks for stopping by! Nottz' album may sound a little understated, but it's definitely a decent album and you must check it out if you have a favorite from his past works.

sonnycheeebah, To me, there's nothing really special or extraordinary about I Am Not Human Being, but I love it as if it's another Young Money crew album. Plus, the beats are nice overall. And I need to get Mr. Rager as soon as it gets available! It must be my Album Of The Month this November... at least until My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Pink Friday come out.
