Did you sign up to RYM? I sound like I work for the company, or something. If you do, find me over there, I'd like to opportunity to see more of what your tastes are like, especially in regards to film. http://rateyourmusic.com/~ASpiritualMoon Although we seem to differ completely in one regard; I ADORE bleak films. Love them. I specifically seek them out, in fact. and have made an extensive list of depressing films over on RYM. I watched Come and See because it was meant to be exquisitely directed, which it is, but it turned out to be pretty bleak, too, which was a bonus. It is a anti-war film, yes. :) Paths of Glory is one of my favorites. The ending is incredible and it's beautifully captured. Probably my favorite Kubrick film. Also, Lost in Translation is a favorite of mine, too. Couldn't it be described as pretty bleak? The soundtrack is excellent. Consists of a few of my favorites.

If you commit yourself to it, signing up to RYM would be the best decision you've ever made. I didn't think much of it at first but, thanks to that website, I've discovered literally hundreds of new albums to listen to and films to watch. It's a great resource for recommendations and the lists are pretty cool. Would it be correct to assume the stills are of your favorite films? I agree that films stills can be considered art, which is why I collect film posters. ;) There are some astonishingly good one's, like this, which I have plastered over my living room wall: http://www.moviegoods.com/Assets/product_images/1020/228331.1020.A.jpg I'm going to steal your idea and do one for my own page at some point. Hope you don't mind. ;)

Ha, your surprise amuses me. I'm a bit of a film fanatic, just as you seem to be. I've owned Still Life for some time. I'm quite disappointed I didn't get Mulholland Drive or Synecdoche New York. I've not seen 2046 but it's on my wishlist. I must admit I've never heard of Bright Future or Three Times, though I'll make sure to rectify that now. Do you use Rate Your Music at all? That would probably be a better way for me to gauge your tastes and pick up on anything I've missed. ;)

I love the film stills. Great idea. May I ask what movies they're taken from? I recognise Lost in Translation, There Will Be Blood (I think), Still Life (I think), In the Mood for Love, Werckmeister Harmonies, The Assassination of Jesse James, Barry Lyndon and Stalker. The rest I'm hazy about.
