Hi guys, most of my friends were asking me about the soundtrack of Marie Antoinette, and especially, when each song appears.
So here is a little listing.

Opening
Natural’s Not In It

On the way to the border
Opus #17

Marie Antoinette leaves the tent, in order to meet her husband.
The Melody Of A Fallen Tree

The journey to Versailles
The Radio Dept. « I don’t like it like this »

Marie Antoinette discovers Versailles
Jynweythek Ylow »

Jean-Philippe Rameau
« Aux langueurs d’Apollon »
"1er menuet pour les guerriers et les amazones, 2ème menuet"
« Tristres apprêts, pâles flambeaux »
No idea about the RAMEAU's tracks, there's a lot of classical music in the movie, and I'm not a specialist.

Marie Antoinette organizes a picnic during the hunt
Pulling Our Weight

Marie Antoinette's reading a letter from her mother
Il Secondo Giorno Instrumental

Marie Antoinette is taking a bath
Keen on boys

The hunt
DUSTIN O’HALLORAN « Opus #23 »

Maybe the awfulest shot ever. The succession of candies, cakes (my stomach got so hurt xD), jewels, games...
Bow Wow Wow remix by KEVIN SHIELDS « I want candy »

The masked ball
Hong Kong Garden
But the intro isn't the same in the movie :-/

Meeting Fersen
Aphrodisiac

Back to Versailles
Fools Rush In remix by KEVIN SHIELDS

Louis Philippe's crowned King
Plainsong

Marie Antoinette's birthday
Ceremony

Marie Antoinette takes a bath
Tommib Help Buss

The four members of Phoenix are playing for Marie antoinette in the "petit trianon"
PHOENIX « Où boivent les loups »

Marie Antoinette and her "friends" are playing hide and seek
Kings of the Wild Frontier

Marie Antoinette alone, after Fersen's leaving.
Avril 14th

Marie Antoinette thinks about Fersen
What Ever Happened

Marie Antoinette says goodbye
DUSTIN O’HALLORAN « Opus #36 »

End credits

It's so weird, seeing some of these bands I've grown up with (Cure, Siouxsie, New Order) on a soundtrack for a movie like this. I'm sure it's very good, but I nearly cracked when I heard Plainsong on the commercial for the first time today. I just never thought... ha, but I'm sure that if I was making movies, I'd be trying to get a way with the same thing. So, give and take, I guess. Good job compiling the list; it's interesting to see which songs fit to what scenes because I haven't seen it yet.

WTH? All Cats are Grey and Plainsong? NNNNRRRGH. Two of my favourite songs, and I have a hard time believing they could really work in this film. ACAG especially shouldn't be taken out of the context of Faith. Bah. *goes and kicks something* (Sorry, just ranting here, not trying to shoot the messenger ;))

I thought that Plainsong worked perfectly in the scene after their coronation. Mostly because Plainsong has always been a sad/melancholic song for me, and now it was expressing something pretty positive (but of course, there still is a slightly melancholic feeling to it all, since she seemed to never have been in it wholeheartedly). I'd say that this is the best soundtrack of 2006!
