I think we get influenced by so many things, like our home education, our immediate and not so immediate environment, the school but that doesnt explain how two brothers cna be so different. Regardless of the failures of the education system (which I believe in Germany is worse than here, sorry), it really depends what kind of studies you do. For example all the practical (engineering, science and medical) degrees do is give you the basic tools to become highly specialized in a certain area and provide you the required basic (emphasize the basic) knowledge and way of thinking to succeed in your field of work. Of course problem solving and in general the thought process is/ should be at the highest level. Well... to me that does not make you a better person in any stretch of imagination. Btw that does not mean that graduates with BA of MA (instead of BSc and MSc) are better human but theoretically they are better equipped to think about the society and how to resolve humanitarian issues. Unfortunately money and our greed come into play and destroy everything.... This is getting deep =)

Well, what do you think, does the fact that we are educated makes us more sensitive to the real issues? I am not sure, I have seen so many educated people that we dont care for anything else than their own little world and how to make more money ... great, no? ;)
