I'm already sick of that trend and even more when my little brother is trying to be super scene. It stops being cool (the music used to be cool for me ;) ) when an ignorant 13 year old starts saying

- OMG everybody look at me, I'm sooo emo, I bought everything with checkered pattern, straightened my hair and wear punk studded belts, so I guess I'm the emoest kid in the world!!, please, please!! david, copy me the video of alesana, ambrosia, yeah I know that you showed it to me like a year ago and I didn't like it, but like my equally idiots friends are telling me that it's cool they must be right! -

So basically he ruined that music for me, everytime I listen one of those full-of-scenecers bands I remember this idiot...

whatever...., there are enough good music in the world, I won't miss it while I get used to his shitty look and behavior, thank god I'm leaving home soon..

Banned Bands:

A Skylit Drive,Akissforjersey,Alesana,Blessthefall,Chiodos,Drop Dead, Gorgeous,Emarosa,Escape the Fate,Greeley Estates,GunsLikeGirls,Lovehatehero,Mozart Season,The Devil Wears Prada,Underoath

anyway Alesana is so two years ago....

Yeah I'm being immature , sooo???

btw: I can't wait for fortress from Protest the Hero :D!!

Fuck trends. Fuck those bands. If you want some recommendations I'll give you some. I listen to a lot of different stuff but Metal and all its subgenres are my favorites.

Word while i do find myself still listening to bands like tdwp it buggs the shit out of me when emo kids listen to the same stuff. ITs real bad in the local hxc scene that ive stopped going lots of shows. Converge, dillinger, between the buried and me, and botch are great bands which emo kids tend to hate. Also there are a lot of good strait edge bands which a lot of kids stay away from because being edge is uncool as well. Oh and i cant wait for protest the heros new cd, should be epic.

I was expecting 13 year old girls yelling at me that scene kids are hawties and that this trend should never end... well maybe if I had posted it in buzznet I would have got that :) thanks for all your words of support :), jejeje maybe we should make a group: 'The music is good but not the looks' or something like that :P , there isn't a group like that?

It is true there is a lot of good metalcore out there that is un-scene. Try some Himsa they rule.

Try listening to the new Chiodos album (again?). The first one blew ass, but I find myself quite enjoying the newest album. It's good, catchy music, that can be quite technical and symphonic at times. The rest of those bands can go die in a fire. (and where is my fortress)

If you like it just listen to it. Not listening to a band just because a guy at your school who looks just like your 12 year old sister listens to that band is just plain stupid.

what part of 'Yeah I'm being immature , sooo???' you didn't understand? And it's not a guy at my school is my brother.... Btw I left school loooooooong time ago

Or try some Minus The Bear/Bear Vs. Shark thing. And you can never go wrong with post-rock, but maybe that's not your thing? But I agree with your point. 'The Devil Wears Prada, Drop Dead, Gorgeous' What's in a name? :p
thanks for all your words of support :), jejeje maybe we should make a group: 'The music is good but not the looks' or something like that :P , there isn't a group like that?
There is some sort of group, 'Forget Emo' http://www.last.fm/group/Forget+Emo

  • Jordan1124

    lol @ that groups charts.

    29. Jan. 2008, 21:31
  • C26000

that group is not exactly about that, is more about not using the generic emo word for music..

    29. Jan. 2008, 22:38
  • Jordan1124

Yeah but that shit is what 80% of the population views as emo. People will never learn what real emo was or is.

I hate scenesters too, BUT: -I can't help but like the emo style. -I can't help but love bands such as Blessthefall, Lovehatehero, Escape The Fate, even if I am perfectly aware they are nothing but fashioncore/scenecore. Question is: Is it right to ignore your taste in music just because it's full of retarded 13 year olds being too excited about this whole emo thing?

    31. Jan. 2008, 8:53
  • C26000

thank god it's just a small part of my music taste, and yeah I can ignore it and eventually forgot it, (I've done it before). If it's right I don't know... does it matter if it is right or not when you are not comfortable when listening to those bands? I guess not.. but really the horde of girl-looking-guys-with not-sexual-defined-orientation-that-most-girls-think-is supper-hot needs to stop NOW!! we need an equivalent to the grunge-that-killed-hair-fashion-obsesed-scene urgently!!

The good thing is that In my mind I have been able to separate from this shitty scene, bands that I like and people in general still relate with it. For example silverstein, emery, static lullaby and many other emocore classic bands are not as fashioncore as the new ones, so I can listen to them comfortably :), others are taking back sunday, my chemical romance, etc that while they are part of the modern emo scene, they aren't fashioncore. And finally From First To Last they were scene-fashioncore like 3 years ago or something (before heroine), I love them so much for they masterpiece that is heroine and for being early in jumping from the scene-fashion bandwagon before it gets ridiculous at everyones eyes..
