You'd better believe it, friend. It just showed up this afternoon, actually.

I'm honestly not too familiar with Purity Ring. I seem to remember listening to a song or two of theirs previously and not being terribly impressed by it, but I could of course be remembering wrong. As for the TWEWY soundtracks, I've got both Japanese CDs and I thought the original soundtrack release was better than Subarashiki Kono Sekai + The World Ends With You. The remixes on SKS + TWEWY were usually alright, but mostly I bought it for Déjà vu and Transformation and all those great international version tracks. Wish Square Enix would stop futzing around with iOS ports and just work on the sequel already.

Your music taste is just so extraordinarily astounding, that I've gotta check some of your top artists. I've read Diamond Age in English, Polish translation is probably pretty silly. Did you read Snowcrash? It was pretty awesome as well.

And yeah, hahah, I guess we have. Probably has something to with the fact that both Endless Fantasy and Random Access Memories just came out. I'm totally going to go listen to Merriweather Post Pavilion and complete the cycle now.

I haven't quite reached Level 99 in Hacking yet, so I don't think I have the proper skill level required to do that. Also, I feel really dumb for not immediately realizing that was a Fight Club reference (it was, right?). But anyways, yeah, JAK is releasing an LP soon. I've talked to him via Facebook a few times, originally it was supposed to be done by last November but he kept getting busy. I'm not sure how much he has recorded for it now, but when I last talked to him in April I got the impression it was maybe halfway finished. He said it was going to be poppier than TWSV and that he's using live drums and "more adventurous instrumentation/arrangements," so that would explain the extra time it's taking. Please do keep that on the down-low though, I'm hoping it'll take a lot of people by surprise when he officially announces it.

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't know. I'm honestly quite surprised at the amount of people out there who really had no idea they broke up. Suppose I'm lucky for not discovering them until a few months after they disbanded, that breakup would have killed me.... hopefully someday they'll reform, but judging from the harshly negative view Kurt has on all his DG songs nowadays I'm not sure how likely that will be (although Christoph seemed to remain pretty positive about the DG when I was emailing him, not sure about Anton). And sorry about Computer Savvy, too! The one I'm holding was actually a gift from Dan so I've had it for a little over a year, but back in October he put a big stack of copies he still had lying around up for sale and they sold out within a few hours, so I think a lot of people missed out, sadly. And haha, no, I don't have Machinarium, but that vinyl sounds sick! I'm always up for some jazz so I'll have to check that out, thanks.

Ah, well, I don't actually like '80s Genesis very much. :P They were essentially a different band in the early '70s, with Peter Gabriel as their lead singer/flute-player/wearer-of-stupid-costumes. And Phil Collins as the drummer. Eno is super-duper but again, his '70s glam-rock stuff is far superior to his ambient stuff later on. I knew he did the soundtrack to Spore, and I haven't listened to it. But I agree with your mum's sentiment, he does get rather dreary by the mid-'80s or so. His work with Talking Heads is excellent, though. Talking Heads are new-wave, right? LOVE Talking Heads. I'm scanning down your "most played" list and see two artists I've heard of: The Chemical Brothers (whose work I've heard none of) and The Prodigy (who are a whole lotta fun, though I've never seen fit to actually *buy* anything of theirs). WOO!
