  • Alice in Chains - 5/15/13

    18. Mai. 2013, 13:06

Alice in Chains at the Eagles Club in Milwaukee, WI.
Angry Chair might have been an odd choice to open a show with but I loved it and how it was preceded by It Ain't Like That. Hollow and Stone sounded awesome and it was nice that we got the first ever live performance of Phantom Limb! Milwaukee definitely loves AiC and the band can clearly tell. Can not wait for the new album and tours.

  • Meshuggah - 2/15/13

    16. Feb. 2013, 13:34

    Meshuggah at Roseland Ballroom.
Wasn't sure if we would end up with Jens singing but he wound up on vocals for most of the set. I wish they would've played two more songs but overall it was a great show. Intronaut killed although Animals as Leaders I found a bit repetitive after a few songs.

    1. Swarm
    2. Do Not Look Down
    3. Behind The Sun
    4. The Hurt That Finds You First
    5. I Am Colossus
    6. Mind's Mirror
    7. In Life - Is Life
    8. In Life - Is Death
    9. Shed
    10. Bleed
    11. Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion
    12. New Millennium Cyanide Christ (w/ Sacha on vocals)

    13. Dancers To A Discordant System (instrumental)

Fri 15 Feb – Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders, Intronaut
  • Soundgarden - 1/23/13

    24. Jan. 2013, 11:02

Soundgarden at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC, NY.

Crushing show. Ended up one person back from the rail after waiting a half hour in the cold but it was worth it. This was my second time seeing them and the last was at Mohegan Sun Arena so I was pumped to be seeing them in a smaller venue. I wish more bands played 2.5 hour sets and switched them up like this. There were a few songs that I would have loved to seen again that weren't played but who am I to complain with a 28 song setlist. The only thing I was disappointed with was backing tracks in Rowing, not sure why Chris can't sing them. Closing with 4th of July FTW!! One of my favorite songs and Ben's bass in that song is ungodly.

    1. Searching With My Good Eye Closed
    2. Spoonman
    3. Gun
    4. Rhinosaur
    5. Flower
    6. Loud Love
    7. Drawing Flies
    8. Hunted Down
    9. Live to Rise
    10. Non-State Actor
    11. My Wave
    12. Been Away Too Long
    13. Worse Dreams
    14. Blow Up the Outside World
    15. Zero Chance
    16. Eyelid's Mouth
    17. Like Suicide
    18. By Crooked Steps
    19. Outshined
    20. Blood on the Valley Floor
    21. Fresh Tendrils
    22. Mailman
    23. Black Hole Sun
    24. Rowing

    25. Head Down
    26. Rusty Cage
    27. The Day I Tried to Live
    28. 4th of July

  • Neurosis - 1/19/13

    20. Jan. 2013, 19:43

Wow. From the moment they opened with Eye and closed with Locust Star the intensity never faded. Really hard to pick a stand out song as every song sounded amazing and I was shocked at how great the sound was for being right up front. Glad I finally caught these guys.

    1. Eye
    2. My Heart for Deliverance
    3. At the End of the Road
    4. Times of Grace
    5. Distill (Watching the Swarm)
    6. At the Well
    7. The Tide
    8. We All Rage in Gold
    9. Bleeding the Pigs
    10. Given to the Rising
    11. Locust Star
Sat 19 Jan – Neurosis, Carlos Giffoni, James Plotkin & Tim Wyskida
  • A Perfect Circle - 12/29/12

    31. Dez. 2012, 15:02

A Perfect Circle at PH Live in Las Vegas, NV.
Going into the show I was hoping for a different setlist than the previous tour but I guess they're sticking with this for the upcoming Australia/South America shows. I saw the last show they played and the only difference was Blue in place of Fiddle and the Drum. Despite the almost exact set I had a wonderful time here. Since it was a one-off show Maynard's voice sounded excellent and the rest of the members sounded great for not having a show in about 16 months. My only complaint being that I have still yet to hear Judith. Highlights for me were The Noose, The Package, Passive, and Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums. Those songs sound massive live. By and Down is great live but I wish they'd just release a studio version of it already, or at the best put out a official live version.

Also, the way Planet Hollywood deals with shows is fuckin' horrible. With doors at 8 we lined up and it took us 45 minutes to get inside the venue. Odds are I'll never see another show there again so I won't have to deal with it but that's besides the point.

    Annihilation
    Imagine
    Weak and Powerless
    The Hollow
    Rose
    Blue
    What's Going On
    People Are People
    The Outsider
    Peace, Love and Understanding?
    When the Levee Breaks
    The Noose
3 Libras (All Main Courses Mix)
    The Package
    Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie
    Passive
Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums
    By and Down

    4. Dez. 2012, 18:52

The Smashing Pumpkins at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. Opening band Five Knives was horrible.
Oceania sounded good live. Space Oddity and X.Y.U. were the highlights of the show for me, never expected to hear X.Y.U. live.

    1. Quasar
    2. Panopticon
    3. The Celestials

  • High on Fire - 11/30/12

    4. Dez. 2012, 18:43

High on Fire at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC. This show, along with the following night in Brooklyn, were being recorded for a live album. I'd personally rather see a live dvd for them but oh well. Show was killer. Brent Hinds from Mastodon was rocking out on the rail for their set.

    2. Frost Hammer
    3. 10,000 Years
    4. Devilution

  • Megadeth - 11/13/12

    14. Nov. 2012, 10:57

Megadeth at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT.

It was nice to hear all the Countdown songs that I hadn't heard live before but the rest of the set was the typical songs that they've been playing for years. And due to shitty sound the set was short two songs to the prior shows. I would have rather seen this show at Lupos in Providence than hear, the crowd sucked and Lupos is smaller.

    1. Trust
    2. Hangar 18
    3. She-Wolf
    4. Countdown to Extinction
    5. Skin o' My Teeth
    6. Symphony of Destruction

    12. High Speed Dirt
    13. Psychotron
    14. Captive Honour
    15. Ashes in Your Mouth
    16. Public Enemy No. 1
    17. Peace Sells
    18. Holy Wars... The Punishment Due
Tue 13 Nov – Megadeth, Kyng
