actually ive been wanting to get into hip hop lately... ive been getting a lot of recommendations but i havent had the time to listen to them fully. thanks for that roots bit... ill def check it out. BTW you have to get Kaddisfly - Set Sail the Prairie, its such good pop-prog-rock (think dredg) and i cant stop listening to it. awesome stuff

quite true about prog being pretentious. I guess for it NOT to be, it wouldn't be progressive now would it? Regardless motW/Kayo Dot are two very amazing outfits. :)

i wouldn't say it's all shit, as concerts are good. The rest of it is. You know hendrix was supposed to play on bitches brew? he couldn't, but when he died he was supposed to play on davis' next fusion album

for more on it, hendrix released are you experienced? and axis: bold as love in 1967, both of which are masterpieces (bold as love gets nowhere near as much love as it should. That being said, i think the reason albums take longer nowadays is because of all the promotional stuff, plus the time it takes to print everything

I was really hoping he'd say King Crimson and prove me wrong, but I guess not. The Mars Volta lost me on that new one...seemed really pretentious, but maybe it's just because I never really gave it that much of a chance outside of the two listens I gave it. :x

Über mich

Into all types of music. Punk, ska, prog, jazz, funk, RIO/avant-garde, ambient, psychedelic, jam bands, hip hop, soul...

Music that combines the political with personal emotions are generally my favorite.
