My reaction: I don't want financial reparations for there is not enough money in the world to apologize for the pain the black American community has endured for GENERATIONS since our ancestors were SHACKLED in chains across the Atlantic Ocean.

I want mandatory skill programs, educational opportunities, business opportunities and for our community to be uplifted during this time. Maybe I am wishful thinking but it doesn't hurt to share what we want.

I'm thankful that the US government will grant this apology recognizing that slavery did happen in the United States but I am curious to know what maybe in store in the long run. That is more important to me.

Our community needs direction.
