Biografie

Bielefeld, Deutschland (1994 – 1997, 1999 – aktuell)

Xandria wurde im Jahr 1994 in Bielefeld gegründet und brachte ihr erstes offizielles Album im Jahre 2003 heraus. In der Folgezeit wurde Xandria eine der bekanntesten Bands ihres Genres.

Vorläuferband 1994 - 1997
1994 gründeten Marco Heubaum (Gitarre) und Niki Weltz (Schlagzeug) eine Vorläuferband der heutigen Xandria, die aber bis auf Marco Heubaum selbst keine Mitglieder mit der heutigen Band gemein hatte. Die Wurzeln der Band lagen im Gothic Metal der 1990er, als Vorbild dienten Bands wie Tiamat und Paradise Lost. Aufgrund musikalischer Differenzen trennten sich Xandria 1997, woraufhin Mastermind Marco Heubaum zunächst allein an der Vision Xandria feilte, um später eine neue band mit neuen Mitgliedern zu gründen.

1999 - 2009
1999 belebte Marco Heubaum mit neuen Leuten die Band wieder, welche ihre ersten fünf Songs im Internet der Öffentlichkeit vorstellte. Nach diversen Demoaufnahmen und einem immensen Erfolg auf verschiedenen MP3-Portalen wurde im Mai 2003 das Debütalbum Kill The Sun eingespielt. Es erreichte Platz 98 in den deutschen Album-Charts. Das Nachfolgealbum Ravenheart konnte sich 7 Wochen in den Albumcharts halten und erreichte Platz 36.

Das 2005 erschienene Album India erreichte auf Anhieb Platz 30 der deutschen Albumcharts. Die symphonischen Parts auf diesem Album sind mit dem Babelsberger Filmorchester aufgenommen worden.

Im Mai 2007 erschien das vierte Studioalbum Salomé - The Seventh Veil, das den musikalischen Weg der Vorgängeralben nur teilweise weiterführte.

    You can still miss someone while also listening to the old albums. I miss her, listen to the old albums, AND I love Neverworld's End + Manu. Even if I didn't care for NE / Manu, nothing wrong with talking about their older stuff. That's Xandria, too.
