I think it's far from cheesy. I think it is cold. Even if it is cold, it has its emotive factors but that differentiates from 'cheesy' which is a statement conjured by those who label all 'red emotions.'

Musically, this was better than I expected. It's a shame it can be rather cheesy, though.

After 'Praise the Fallen' and 'Empires' I go back to this one the most. Beautiful album.

I find I warmed to it as it went on.. but The Farthest Star really should not have been the first "proper" track on there.

Mm, not quite. One would be a blatantly racist remark, the other is a simple quibble about the difference between american and british spelling. Anyway, great album; I heard for so long that it was 'softer' so I was kinda skeptical, expecting an album full of songs like Beloved...but it's not like that at all, honestly.

EverythingInane: tbh, i've never seen it written judgment. but well, i looked it up, and it says with e is british, without e is american.. seeing that VNV are british.. don't be so egocentric, it's a bit like saying Obama has a wrong color of skin, eh? ;)

ianshaw: Yeah, I agree. I've only seen them live once but it was one of the best concerts ever.

If you ever have a chance, you MUST see a VNV Nation show. Its incredible!!! The music drives you and at the end- at least in Denver - the lights came up and they just sat on stage and talked to the crowd. I have never seen artists as engaged in their music and their audience!

did anyone notice vnv spells judgment wrong? I guess I only know how it's spelled myself, though, from reading A Course in Miracles too much. Actually, it's more like it was translated wrong.... 'judgEment' is an acceptable European spelling, which is where VNV is from, but in North America it's officially judgment. So I guess it doesn't matter... but........the more you know......
