Pátek 15.7.2011, Vizovice - Areál likérky Rudolf Jelínek

Druhý den první poloviny festivalu byly Vizovice a blízké okolí potažené zamračnou oblohou, protkanou tu a tam mezerami, kterými se k povrchu zemskému dralo světlo. Na konci dne se trošku vyjasnilo, ale déšť nás překvapoval dál.

Krev metalistů rozproudil(i) po čtvrtečním náročném večeru tleskač, česká ska kapela, která se příjemně poslouchá a skrz jejich tóny se člověk oprostí alespoň na pár chvil od veškeré metalové epičnosti a pompéznosti, která je žánru přeci jen vlastní (i když někteří, Rhapsody of Fire kupříkladu, v tom umějí chodit, zatímco o takových Manowar radši pomlčet). Pří pohledu do publika pod pódiem si člověk nemohl nevšimnout, že koncentrace černé byla významně naředěna všemi možnými duhovými barvami.

Sirenia, norský zástupce "beauty and the beast" scény, do Vizovic dorazil, bohužel bez bubeníka - a proto, podobně jako loni Delain, přislíbili účast na příštím ročníku; člověk si skoro říká, jestli nejde o nějaké prokletí gothic metalových kapel. …

Mon 13 Jun – Metal Hammer Golden Gods

I shan't be discussing my thoughts on the award winners (because I didn't agree with many of them), but I shall be discussing the live performances (as always!).

Buckcherry are a band I've seen before and their absence from my collection becomes increasingly confusing when I remember that I enjoy their performances.
Sure, it might not be the most memorable stuff in the world (aside from Crazy Bitch, which everyone knows them for), but it's good hard rock and I do enjoy that from time to time! Good performance from these guys; warms the post-Download crowd up nicely which cannot be an easy task.

Sylosis are a band I hold close to my heart, having seen them live across so many points in their career.
The fact that tonight isn't really a gig makes getting close without being drawn into a circle pit a little bit of a novelty. I don't think their newer material fits these smaller slots as well as the old stuff did. …
