Twilightning formed in 1998, consisting of guitarists Tommi Sartanen and Ville Wallenius, bassist Jussi Kainulainen, and drummer Juha Leskinen, with Tommi also on vocals. After releasing their first demo in 1999, they were joined by keyboardist Mikko Naukkarinen. Following the release of their second demo in 2001, Heikki Pöyhiä joined as lead singer. With this reinforced lineup, they release a third demo, which demonstrated their heavy influence from 1980s heavy metal.
[1] Thanks to the interest this stirred, the group signed to Spinefarm Records, releasing their debut Delirium Veil in 2003, which drew comparisons to Edguy, Stratovarius, and Sonata Arctica.[2] They followed that up by releasing Plague-House Puppet Show in 2004, and the EP Bedlam in 2006.[3] Shortly after the release of Bedlam, Mikko Naukkarinen left the band.[4]
The latest release by Twilightning was Swinelords, released in 2007. It departed significantly from the distinctive power metal sounds of their previous releases, drifting more into the 80s hard rock genre. It features more laid back vocals and guitar work, as well as a complete lack of keyboards.[5]

Bands fail because they're shit or because they break up. Bands can make a (very big) living off touring alone. Pirating does almost nothing for the band, because they hardly make any money from selling CDs anyway (once the publishers and retailers take their cut and the rest is divided up between all the band members, writers and producers). You could even argue pirating helps bands, as it brings in more attendees for their gigs. You can't pirate entry to a gig!

What makes me sad though, is that my Twilight shirt is starting to shred and I can't order a new one my size. God damn. Anyway, Twilightning encompassed a batch of wonderful musicians and I'm glad I've got three CDs and an EP + a fancy fuck-all shirt in my collection. I wonder what are the members up to now.

@scy1192 because that's what the record execs spend their money on. Metalbladr, Spinefarm, Nuclear Blast, and all of those are independant and don't get a say in what popular. It's a corrupt system. I know.

Bedlam, PHPS, and Delerium Veil were all very keyboard intensive albums, and they didn't know what to do after that so they went hard rock with Swinelords, and many people thought that it was crap, and they weren't able to perform their old songs without a keyboardist, so they weren't getting the motivation from a lot of their fans, so that is why I think is one of the reasons that they broke up. Just my $.02

I miss them. I adored this band 4-5 years ago. I've long since then ditched power metal, but I still love them. Also, I'm going to be a blasphemer now: Swinelords is a great album. I especially love the vocalwork on it, their lead singer's got a great baritone. Suck it, power metal elitists, it's a great rock album.
