Trailhead is the venture of Berlin based songwriter Tobias Panwitz. Drawing from journeys through various parts of the world and musings on relations past and present, his songs are of a quiet restlessness, captured in simple, personal tunes.
The past four years, leaving, returning to and living in his native Berlin lead to Trailhead’s most recent release “The Road To Salamanca” (March 2009, Trailer Tunes / Cannery Row Records), a collection of roadside stories, gently arranged between acoustic solo pieces and layed back band tunes.

Echoing the folky americana sound of the 60s & 70s classics, as well as of contemporary Alt. Country artists, these songs either soar with the sound of Panwitz’ rootsy backing band or strip down, as in his solo sets, to their calmer self of story and melody.
