Some awesome experimental songs here. Way better than Identity Crisis.

Fire is heavy and fast, Water slow and peaceful. But all of it is amazing and experimental. Thrice is great.

i like the first volumes way more than the second half. for some reason earth and air just didn't strike me the way fire and water did. these songs are so powerful in their own rights and just -crush- me. dang. pardon me while i go lie down from the weight that was just put on my ears.

@Serjio: Music is not about whether the song is catchy or if you can recall it from memory. A song simple enough to recall entirely from memory can very often be a terrible thing. This is about making something that sounds good. While listening to it. It's in what the music is, not what you try to use it as.

I can't believe vols 3 and 4 have had more plays. I just simply love how fire is used metaphorically in the first six songs and water is used to get across themes in the last six tracks. The tracks on water specefically, are perfect in terms of atmosphere and lyrics.

Both albums are fan-freakin-tastic! Bands have to constantly evolve and change or else their music is like stagnet water, which is what Thrice is doing. The theme of the elements is awesome too

Yes they're going downhill. This one (all 4 parts) is definitely a weaker album, compared to Vheissu, which is a true masterpiece (not a single regular song). Thrice is turning Coldplay? How many compositions can you sing from memory after listening to Air or Earth? Maybe they need a producer again to get the best from them.

Fire was meh. Water is just plain awesome.

This really showcases Thrice's potential. I was afraid that after Vheissu they were going downhill. All of a sudden, they regained their energy with Fire, and Water is one of the most magnificently produced discs of material I've heard this decade. If water had a musical sound, this would be exactly what it is.
