What. Was that a weird thing to say?

I rarely see this much actual dialog in a shout string. This band's fans are thinking people.

Whether you like them or don't - you have to respect them. Their peers do....... maybe it's you........Seriously, get that checked out ! Just sayin'.

I always thought of this as flatulent rather than sleazy.

awesome voices, strange composiums, but great sound, rather unique in this combination presented here, love "Stranglers" as one of my fave post-punk groups...

agreee with retroguy, I also had this album as my first contact with the Stranglers. (But I like only the "original" Stranglers band setting, there is something going on nowadays which I don't recognize at all. )

I humbly opine that this whole album is a great work, and I love the whole thing. I never connected with other albums, and maybe if I had done more exploration I might think this song paled by comparison, but I thought the whole of Dreamtime was strong any way you evaluated it. Even by just "good old pop music". Catchy. Clever. Poignant if you listen to the lyrics. Original. Rockin. What do you want, wicker?

One of the best bands to come out of the whole `punk` thing in the seventies... these were actually fantastic musicians, unlike the morons who thrashed about on un-tuned instruments jumping on the bandwagon of Punk... The Stranglers and The Police.. were fantastic... the rest were just shite!

The best traks from 10, Dreamtime and Aural Sculpture would make a great album. This is a great track. Incidentally their last two albums Norfolk Coast (2004) and Suite XVI (2006) have been excellent.

Not to mention Aural Sculpture, their best album by a mile. This is a good song too, btw.

Can't beleive what I'm reading below. Stranglers were a pretty unique band that wasn't afraid to experiment hence the odd sounding song. Thye forged a unique sound that resulted in lots of classic cuts and respect from other musicians both past and present.

i agree this song is awful, but they still managed to record some good stuff even in the 80ies.

Stranglers are a great example of a band who should have quit by 1980 - this 80's stuff was terrible - really, really bad
