I feel like this album starts a little too strong for its own good...the first five songs are all absolutely amazing. The middle of the album, while certainly good in its own right, doesn't quite match up to the beginning (and of course Pale Blue Dot).

One of my top favorite albums of all time, I actually love Casey but think the new singer works better for this.

I can see why post-rock fans might be prefer this, but as a rock/metal fan I have to say I prefer BTHATS. Mostly because Casey was in that and not this, but still.

Dark_dude pretty much said what I came here to say. The genius of this album is that it's not just straight up rock like BTHATS, but has some great atmospherics and instrumental bits. A lot of the songs are about the buildup and the atmosphere, something I've come to appreciate through post rock.

Whoa, fantastic atmospherics here. The dark soundscapes come across so well in the layered guitar effects and resonant vocals, giving it a unique but excellent texture. As a huge post-rock and post-hardcore whore, this album is certainly a stand-out.
