28. Jul. 2006, 18:01 von jcshepardHI! It's 'H' n 'I' time, a hot time in the old town tonight time of July. Highlights:
I've been enjoying Halden Wofford & The Hi-Beams' new album, Midnight Rodeo. The cover art is a bit bizarre, but it's just great down-home western-swing honky-tonkin' from the boys from Denver. REAL Country Music from REAL country gentlemen. If you like Hank Williams, Buddy Holly, or Bob Wills, take a listen to the Hi-Beams.
Venturing a bit further afield this summer, they've been up north to Montana, and hitting the East Cost this summer. Playing New York City 9-10 August 06; Cambridge, Mass 12th August, Stony Hill, NY 13th August. Yee haw, baby.
The Cornell Hurd Band are Austin favorites of the 3rd Coast REAL Country crowd. Not only do they play some good old western-swing honky tonkin', but their down home CD productions feature rare treats from artists such as Justin Trevino and Marti Brom. Take a night out at Jovita's and drink a long tall cool one with the Boys in the Cornell Hurd Band.
