We're half-way through 2011, and it's already shaping up to be a great year for music (especially for House music). Having come across a plethora of excellent 2010 albums this year, I feel compelled to re-evaluate my list of favorite albums from 2010. Though I'm sure to come across more gems from 2010 in the future, I feel the following list is a much more accurate representation of the best music from 2010.

liebe menschen! es sind keine zwei monate mehr und wir werden gemeinsam das orange blossom special zum 15. male feiern. großartig, was? na ja, jedenfalls, wenn man so oft dabei gewesen ist, wie viele anhänger dieser veranstaltung. ich selbst gehöre in den kreis der novizen und freue mich umso mehr, so herzlich aufgenommen worden zu sein. und das passiert einem nicht nur, wenn man gerade mal einen dahergelaufenen musikblog schreibt, sondern jedem einzelnen, der durch die gartentüre in beverungen schreitet. hinweis: bitte bis zum ende lesen, das wichtigste resp. beste kommt zum schluss! die verlose!
nachfolgend das lineup (wobei mit änderungen, ab- wie zugängen durchaus noch zu rechnen ist) mit links zu unseren kleinen vorberichten. die habe ich vor allem deshalb installiert, um zu sehen, welche künstler mir bisher noch durch die lappen gegangen sind. zu ihnen wird es hier und heute auch ein paar worte geben:

Mali rhythms to drown the traffic noise! We catch up with Kidal-based Tamikrest on a hot summer evening along a busy road close to the venue of their Vienna show. Though Tamikrest’s music takes root in Ishumar Rock or Touareg Blues, it includes various international influences and they tour all over Europe. Marvelously dressed-up in the brightest colours with the percussionist and the guitarist wearing a turban, the trio brings some new vibes to Vienna. Coming from the same background as Tinariwen Tamikrest’s lyrics follow much the same themes as theirs. Sitting on an unembellished bench on a pavement in the Austrian capital, Ousmane Ag Mossa sings about the Touareg struggle for self determination. Without understanding a word the Tamasheq poetry and the comforting rhythms evokes thoughts that let you drift to the end of the world and beyond and bring you back to your contemplative self. Later that night at Tamikrest’s concert though, people were less introspective, yet dancing and clapping in joy.
