A-man used to be one of my very favorite sid musicians. Catchy melodies, deep basslines and his adorable approach to work with simulated echoes and filter effects gave him the possibility to enter the top elite of the commodore 64 music scene. While most sid musicians are unable to deliver the same spirit in a different world - speaking of real music - A-Man managed to catch my ears again in one track where he did it all right: Flobber. Eventhough I am not usually a fan of sid conversions, Flobber boasts with such a catchy bassline in combination with a leg-moving beat - that when ignoring the retro sid instruments this delivers a sneak peak of what he would be able to do today if he left his glorious past behind. Steven, give it a try and groove the shit out of the real music world, leave the sid instruments where they belong - on our good old Commodore, and try modern instruments with your productions. The quality of your new stuff is unquestioned, you know your gear for sure. Props!
