Slow Club is the name of a two-piece folk-pop band from Sheffield, England. The band formed in 2006, after the break-up of Sheffield band The Lonely Hearts.
The band is made up of Charles (vocals, guitar) and Rebecca (vocals, guitar, percussion). They have supported other Sheffield contemporaries such as Tiny Dancers as well as Omaha based band and labelmates Tilly and the Wall, who share the band’s alternative, folk orientated sound. The band is notable for their use of unusual objects as percussion instruments such as glass bottles and even a chair.
Slow Club released two 7“ singles in 2007, Slow Club and Me and You, both on Moshi Moshi records. On 1 September 2008 Slow Club released their first EP entitled Let’s Fall Back in Love , also on Moshi Moshi Records.
Their song „When I go“ was used in Ritz Crackers commercials in Canada in 2008. Their song „Thinking Drinking Sinking Feeling“ was used in a Lay’s Potato Chip commercial in February 2009 in the USA. Vodafone Australia’s - Make The Most Of Now -, a 2009 advertising campaign, used Slow Club’s „Let’s Fall Back In Love“.
On 7 April 2009 they announced that their debut album, which was recorded by Mike Timm at Axis Studio in Sheffield, would be entitled „Yeah So“ and would be released on 6 July 2009 on Moshi Moshi Records.

JUst Saw them in Tunbridge Wells Forum,Possibly The sound wasn't up to the mark,or the low attendance disappointed the mermbers of Slow Club, whatever! they delivered to this fan a below par performance .Short and not includfing their best tracks, sad really if they had just ploughred on and done their best, rather than reflect the situation of a bad sound sysyerm and low attendance this could have been a great performance,this was my first attendance at the Forum usually i catch most of groups i like in London,got a feeling they delivered a better performance at the Scala....note to a great band who will become big,trust me come back to Tun:wells when your big and show us what you can do... still love this band just disappointed, hope to see them again and hopefully they will delivery a better performance..Gabe
