"Bruce Campbell on that time he officiated at a zombie wedding" obviously brings to mind two classic Showbread tracks.

Showbread fans: I've been writing about a different album each day this year for my project One Record Per Day. Yesterday I wrote about "No Sir" and you can check it out here: http://onerecordperday.wordpress.com/2013/04/22/day-112-310-showbread-no-sir-nihilism-is-not-practical/ the Showbread dudes were and probably will always be the most gracious and genuine "music people" (bands, managers, record store people, whatever) i've ever met. thanks for checking it out.

Haha now that I've listened to the album more I think I know what you mean by ska influence. There's that kind of driving offbeat rhythm in some songs that you find in a lot in ska. I was thinking in terms of instrumentation earlier.

Hmm I'm not really seeing the ska influence, but ska generally isn't something that I listen to much so I could be wrong.

I disagree with @ROSSSSS. I loved their lyrics within their hardcore sound. There's almost what sounds like a ska influences on some tracks on Cancer which I really dislike, I love the harder tracks, though. The lyrics on You Will Not Die In A Prison absolutely rule.

I wish they hadn't become such a praise band. Their sound on The Fear of God was perfect.

I definitely hear a little Children 18:3 and As Cities Burn... but yeah, there's definitely more suited similar artists. Refused, At The Drive-In, Dananananaykroyd... hear the likes of them long before I hear any of the similar artists in Showbread's music.

The similar artists are based on other artists that people who listen to Showbread also listen to. If you're going to be mad at someone, be mad at people who listen to Showbread, not Last.fm.

i also am very pissed with the similar artists. showbread deserves way more than the sub-par christian rock bands they are paired with. when i see refused, manson, flaming lips, DIES, NIN, and like genesis or some sort of post-hardcore on there, i will be satisfied. give josh die's influences they deserve.
