"But you know, the fact is, Jazz is, is mistakes. You're playing a song, but wrong"

Taking avant-garde, jazz and metal to levels that should never happen due to becoming unlistenable. But somehow, it all totally works. It should be a excessive pile of shit, but it's full of insane awesomeness.

I think the NIN comparison is justified, since Sean Beavan engineered all of NIN's classic albums as well as this one.

Man, this shit is intense. To the person that sees the NIN influence, I believe you're noting the industrial sound in their music, but I'd compare it more to Godflesh or Jesu (or Broadrick in general). Love the heavy avant-jazz permeating this music, and damn is that King Crimson cover heavy as fuck. Overall, they remind me a bit of the newest album from Unexpect (Fables of a Sleepless Empire), though Shining are more heavy on the jazz (they use strings and piano instead of sax) and Shining is more industrial, though they both are influenced by electronic's structuring.

Great album, really. Did not click at all the first time through, but later on it got more enjoyable. Also features the best cover of 21st Century Schizoid Man I've heard. Man, that's heavy.

May not sound like jazz because of the instruments but the song writing is damn jazzy!
