    IntheLuminol, I don't know that I'd call it a musical awakening for me, but it was certainly a groundbreaking album in that it was released at about the same time as Alanis' first album, Sheryl Crow's first, so it was a time of women finally finding great voices in music (and I prefer listening to women anyway--never understood guys who would complain about listening to female singers... do they love men THAT much?).
