FAFTS is cold, melancholic, atmospheric, not the "happy", upbeat shit I always find searching for Melodic Black Metal bands.

I'd rather listen to Dissection, to be honest.

oh yeah if you don't know this song: To Ruin and Decay by Thy Primordial, you ought to listen to it if you like Far Away From The Sun & Finis Malorum. there is a repeated riff in there that is identical to Sacramentum stuff. you will enjoy it, that bands vocals are a little typical for black metal and they have almost non stop blast beats but they are more creative than say, mid era Setherial's.

Of course. Vinterland also never sounded like Dissection, because they based their songs on quadrupule Hessian fugues.

"People still compare Sacramentum and Dissection?" Deaf people do. They approached the genre in a similar way, but one used traditional metal (read: blues) as its source of melody and the other didn't. One based their songs on long contrapuntal phrases and the other didn't. [2] One of the few cases where GK and I are in full agreement

Anyone have a copy of Sedes Impiorum? I'm really doubting this, but I'd be willing to trade my left leg for it. Haha.

Lulz. People still compare Sacramentum and Dissection? Why not just bring Unanimated and Necrophobic to the picture too? Then we can have an even larger-scale war. [3] I say we do it.
