I stumbled upon Rustie through Porter Robinson's own favorite playlist on Spotify. He had Slasherr in his playlist. I can take the musical changes Rustie has after finding all his work at the same time. I've never heard music like any of this it doesn't matter. Sick stuff. Especially with sub woofer. Been riding on those dangerously deep melodic bass lines.

The only song I like on the new album is the one with Danny Brown. The last album was so good, I guess too good.

I love Green Language. people would enjoy their music better if they stopped comparing and starting taking things in as individual works from the same source. albums and media from the same person have never been linear because no person is static like that. You either grow with an artist or you don't, or you grow into the way they're growing or away from them.

some of the quieter ambient parts are somewhat interesting but mostly green language is terrible. worst warp release ive ever heard i think.

Seriously, though, Green Language is pretty cool; it may not be as cohesively good as Glass Swords, but if you skip over Attak it's a pretty solid listen all the same.

vv potential hit the nail on the head. He's stuck at a crossroads between wanting to make bangers that'll get played everywhere and wanting to experiment and further carve out his own sound. I think he also wants to distance himself from the hordes of producers around nowadays who have Glass Swords as their bible.

кроме сингла с Брауном ничего не зацепило. Печаль.

This is a completely different album to Glass Swords, stop comparing to it. I think Rustie's aim, like HudMo and Lunice is to get his beats on the biggest Hip Hop tracks. The album is like a showcase for his production ability. Having said that Rustie is still creating sounds and compositions no one else is doing, he's willing to take risks and experiment. This is the 'filler' some people here are referring to. Personally I think the two approaches clash on the album and it doesn't work too well. Rustie needs to go all-out, there were flashes of genius on Glass Swords imo.

http://massappeal.com/rustie-speaking-directly-to-your-emotions/ This interview gives some insight on Green Language. Execution isn't as good as Glass Swords, but I can see where he wanted to go with it.

Green Language was more like a glass of Alka-Seltzer water than the carbonated LSD and Codeine concoction I'd hoped for.

You plebs don't know and/or appreciate what real modern aquacrunk should sound like, this album is golden, He Hate Me feat Gorgeous Children is the best one.

i dig the tropical early 2000's aesthetic but sounds too Music For Elevators or something

  • DM09

whole lot of filler on green language. it's not because it's different that i don't like it. it's because it's pretty boring tbh

Dunno where yall fools are coming from not liking the new album. He's not trying to remake Glass Swords, he's stripping down the music

  • fatpugdog

it aint good its simple as fuck very casual feels like very hype-ish in a way though. however he is a talented kid and he can make people go crazy at his shows like no other. i just feel like green language was a wasted effort.

    August 2014
  • sunnydaysforme

i agree itelmjames! there's zero energy to the tracks! glass swords had a plethora of sounds and bombastic production that nailed every drop and sound. green language feels limp. the songs struggle to make it through 2-3 minutes with enough ideas to keep them interesting. there was an effortlessness to glass swords (and even slasherrr+triadzz). green language coincidentally didnt have enough effort in it apparently

    August 2014
  • IteImJames

its ridiculous how basically every track on that leak was tagged incorrectly, i have no clue how that happened. that track is a banger tho.

    August 2014
  • Bukowski-

oh thanks dude. i hadn't listened to the album yet and just wanted to hear the gorgeous children track first. fucking incorrect tags

    August 2014
  • IteImJames

but yeah mad fucking disappointing album, what happened to all the energy and interesting sounds? theyve been replaced by generic-ness and builds up with no pay offs, everything sounds like an interlude.

    August 2014
  • IteImJames

yes it does? the track was tagged as "green language" on my download (where every track besides Attak and Raptor was tagged incorrectly, god knows why) and it begins with the lyrics "he hate me"

    August 2014
  • Bukowski-

the gorgeous children track doesnt have any rapping on it. are you fucking kidding me?

oh wow rustie straight up gave up

    August 2014

holy shit this was disappointing. has absolutely nothing on glass swords. i get the feeling that he was lazily trying to get this out because warp was on his ass about making a new album
