    Did find his "Rolling Stone". Nothing outstanding, and not related to anything afterwards (from a cursory listen). However, nice to be brought back to "That's no way ....."

    This is a track I must have heard on an obscure compilation some 20 years ago. It's stayed in my memory, even though I had no idea who the singer was. I'm really glad to have rediscovered it and Robert Wilkins. Now I've got to track down his original version of Rolling Stone.

    It’s not just American music. Much of the folk music (John barleycorn, etc.) created from English speaking lands were about rebels and villains. Violence is a inherited part of the music.
